About the Island .


Koh Samui, the beautiful island of the coconut trees, is the third largest Thai island. (Only Phuket and Koh Chang are bigger) The Island is 21 Kilometres at its widest point and 25 at its longest.The area is about 247 square kilometre's and it is located 700 km south of Bangkok in the Surat Thani province.

Every year more and more visitors are drawn to explore its beauty and relax on its sun-drenched beaches and its world famous Spas. One trip will tell you why – Samui is a magical place, the original island paradise.The moment you land on Samui you are caught in its beautiful and relaxed magical atmosphere.

But there’s a lot more to Samui than its miles of golden beaches. Jeeps, motorbikes and bicycles can be rented to explore its rugged interior. There are also treks to do and there are three spectacular waterfalls await your visit on Samui either by foot or on the back of an elephant. Then there are famous “Grandfather and Grandmother“ phallic rocks and a dizzying range of temples and animal sanctuaries to see.
Koh Samui is also a centre for water sports, diving, snorkelling and sea canoeing adventures which set off from the main beaches everyday. You can also visit the nearby islands of Ang Thong Marine National park the unspoiled Eden which inspired the Leonardo DiCaprio movie ‘The Beach’
Well known beaches are Chaweng, Lamai, Bophut, Big Buddha, Choeng Mon, Hua Thanon and Maenam. Samui also has many sister islands; Koh Tao, (one of the top diving islands in Asia) Koh Phangan, Angthong National Marine Park, Koh Tan and beautiful Koh Nang Yuan.
